The Metamorphis - From Campus to Workplace

ACCA Student Conference - Fellowship of Future Leaders

Date: 8-9th November
Venue: Hotel Equatorial Bangi - Putrajaya

What does a gathering of future leaders look like?
Do you have an imagination in your mind?
Eager to have a look at it ???

PRESENTING YOU THE FUTURE LEADERS of Malaysia.....

On the 8th to 9th November, we attended a student conference organized by ACCA Malaysia specially for the Gen - Y leaders of Malaysia. The purpose of this camp was to create better leaders in future. There were plenty of programs and entertainments arranged specially for us to ensure our precious hours are always occupied by something useful and fun.

The day started off with an opening speech given by Ms. Jennifer Lopez, country head, ACCA Malaysia @ ACCA Malaysia of Future Leaders.

Then, it was continued with Neural Linguistic Programming (NLP): The Art of Communication session conducted by Mr. Terrence. Through this session, we had more realization on the importance of communication. But, at times there are barriers which is unavoidable like cultural differences, language proficiency, perceptual disparity, attention span and physical barriers. Therefore, we should always learn how to be flexible and adjust or adapt according to situation.

Later on, there was another session on the Ultimate Taboos at Workplace. This session was conducted by Mr. Johan from TalentCorp. The panels for this session were from Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PwC. They kindly shared their opinions, views and expectations from the Gen-Y. This was a two way session where the participants were also able to ask some questions to clear their doubts.

There was also another session by Shared Services about " New Kids on the Block?" This session was conducted by Mr. Muhammad Imran Kunalan. Shared Services is a way of organizing administrative functions to optimize the delivery of cost‐effective, flexible, reliable services to all “customers”. The exposure to Shared Services can also be another place to look for job opportunities.

GoodBye ACCA Malaysia

Even tough it was a short camp, we enjoyed every minute of it. The programs organized were meaningful and knowledgeable to us. At one point someday, we will realize and thank ACCA again for organizing such an event for us and creating a realization in every one of us.

Best Regards,
