The Metamorphis - From Campus to Workplace

ACCA Student Conference - Fellowship of Future Leaders

Date: 8-9th November
Venue: Hotel Equatorial Bangi - Putrajaya

What does a gathering of future leaders look like?
Do you have an imagination in your mind?
Eager to have a look at it ???

PRESENTING YOU THE FUTURE LEADERS of Malaysia.....

On the 8th to 9th November, we attended a student conference organized by ACCA Malaysia specially for the Gen - Y leaders of Malaysia. The purpose of this camp was to create better leaders in future. There were plenty of programs and entertainments arranged specially for us to ensure our precious hours are always occupied by something useful and fun.

The day started off with an opening speech given by Ms. Jennifer Lopez, country head, ACCA Malaysia @ ACCA Malaysia of Future Leaders.

Then, it was continued with Neural Linguistic Programming (NLP): The Art of Communication session conducted by Mr. Terrence. Through this session, we had more realization on the importance of communication. But, at times there are barriers which is unavoidable like cultural differences, language proficiency, perceptual disparity, attention span and physical barriers. Therefore, we should always learn how to be flexible and adjust or adapt according to situation.

Later on, there was another session on the Ultimate Taboos at Workplace. This session was conducted by Mr. Johan from TalentCorp. The panels for this session were from Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PwC. They kindly shared their opinions, views and expectations from the Gen-Y. This was a two way session where the participants were also able to ask some questions to clear their doubts.

There was also another session by Shared Services about " New Kids on the Block?" This session was conducted by Mr. Muhammad Imran Kunalan. Shared Services is a way of organizing administrative functions to optimize the delivery of cost‐effective, flexible, reliable services to all “customers”. The exposure to Shared Services can also be another place to look for job opportunities.

It's all about the MAGIC of ANALYZING !

Capital Gains Game Competition… The game that makes you richer… literally

Date: October 3, 2012
Venue: MPH
Time: 8pm – 2pm

Capital Gains Game Competition (CGGC) is a successful collaboration between AFSA and True North Asia Sdn Bhd. The goal of bringing this event to UCSI University was to educate our students on investment as well as to increase their financial literacy. One of the major sponsors was from Agensi Kauseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) and The Wall Street Academy. Besides, we had many participants of greater diversities from other universities and colleges who joined the crowd and made the event more merrier- Universiti Malaya, Sunway College, UTAR, and Taylors University.

Now let me take you back to the start of October and reveal the exciting moments…

As the clock hits 8:00am, you can see the crowd is getting bigger as the CGGC participants are coming in to join the fun.

Around 9:15am, Mr Jonathan Quek hits the stage and led the crowd on a simple and fun ice-breaking session. During this session, the participants need to get up from their cozy seat and move around shaking hands with strangers and they must tell their “newly-met friends” some encouraging and motivating words to inspire each other.

At 9:20am, we are honored to invite Mr. Khalil from Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) to teach the young generation on how to manage their money and budget. Financial literacy is definitely something important that was not widely taught in class and we should learn so that we will not overspend our money in this world full of temptation.

Finally, the awaited MOMENT.....

As the game starts, you can start to see the tense in the hall and wrinkled foreheads of the participants who were discussing and trying to make the best investment for every CASE STUDY each year.
