UNITY CAMP-UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL [Part 1]

It’s the AFSA’s FIRST EVER UNITY CAMP! On the 3rd, 4th & 5th June 2011, in Casa Rachado Resort, Port Dickson!

Let me start with THANK YOU! Sincerely want to thank our sponsors for this camp, KPMG, CPA Australia and Student Affairs Office for their support or else this camp would not be so successful! :)

A BIG BIG Thank You to ALL my committees for their effort, bloods, and sweats for this wonderful camp! They sacrificed mentally and physically for this camp. The deputy directors, Pretty Sok Yee and “not-so-handsome” Khai yan (xP). The money-minded treasurer Stefzz, the quiet yet hardworking secretary, Ms Yi Chien. The games team head, cool Jinyi leading fun Leng Kai, cute Huay Wen, cuddly Eddy, and handsome Chris. The Hawaii Party Lead, forever active Little Red, leading beautiful Pui Theng & Vivian. Then here it comes the logistics+first aider+PA system+bodyguards, manly Hao Geeee, & singer Raymond! The one and only publicity dept, Ms pretty Crystal. The one who produces good photos, the awesome photographers, Eric & Jeff.
I clearly remember that it’s 25th March 2011, THE day that I got the job as director for the Unity Camp and also the date that has changed my committees’ life up side down! We have exactly 2 months to prepare for the camp. It was a crazy hectic preparations and the team has never complain for doing so much work in such a short time.

The team has been sacrificing their time to meet with sponsors on semester breaks, the Hawaii party team has been cutting papers non-stop for the decoration of the hall for just that one night. Not just that, we have to take turns to look after the booth everyday. The games team has been cracking their heads to think how to make the participants suffer for the games. On the other side, the team has to concentrate on the hell dancing classes! (Because we only have 9 classes and it’s hard to gather everyone!)

Come let’s go behind the scenes!!

Doing work night and day, day and night, these are the people in my team!

DAY 1

The day has started with a sweet morning speech by Ms Director, Denise Chong. (cough cough self-praise XD) explaining all the rules in camp meanwhile dragging the time for sponsors and bus to arrive. Then KPMG, Partner Ms Teresa Chong gave an opening speech for the camp. In the opening speech, Ms. Teresa, Partner of KPMG Malaysia, said “As an employer, KPMG places a strong emphasis on both academic and non-academic or extracurricular activities. In today’s graduate market, it is no longer enough to be just a straight “A” student but rather there is an increasing demand for students with exceptional soft skills and extra-curricular involvements.
